The real problem
Most searches stall before they really start.
You're applying. You're networking. You're doing the things you're supposed to do. But the interviews aren't coming, or they're coming and not turning into anything, and you can't pinpoint why.
Here's what I see over and over: people are trying to execute a search before the foundation is built. The resume isn't positioned for a specific target. The LinkedIn profile doesn't tell the right story. The networking is scattered because there's no clear company list to anchor it. The interview stories are good but not quite right for the level they're going for.
None of it is obvious from the inside. That's the problem. Everything can look fine on the surface and still not be working.
"I feel like I'm spinning my wheels. I send out resumes and they just go off into the internet world."
The assessment is designed to find exactly what's costing you momentum and tell you specifically what to do about it.
How every search works
Every executive job search has two distinct stages. The breakdown almost always happens when someone tries to run both at the same time, without realizing it.
Foundation Building
Defining your target role and company profile. Building your resume, LinkedIn profile, and cover letter around that target. Developing your talk tracks, interview stories, and networking plan. This is the prep work that makes everything else faster and more effective.
Executing Your Search
The active work: applying, networking, interviewing. This is where most people think they should already be. And it's where things break down when the foundation has gaps, because no amount of effort in Phase 2 compensates for a shaky Phase 1.
"If you don't have those solid (your target job family and target company profile), those two things drive every other single decision: how you position your resume, how you introduce yourself, what stories you tell, who you reach out to, what you say when you get there."
What we evaluate
Six areas. In each one, the goal is specific: what's costing you momentum?
Not a surface-level checklist. A genuine diagnostic: what's working, what isn't, and exactly what to change.
Targeting
A vague or overly broad target is one of the most common reasons strong candidates aren't getting called. Do you have a focused job family and a clear company profile to match? This is the foundation everything else is built on.
Application Materials
Your resume and LinkedIn might look polished and still not be working. Are they positioned for your specific target role, and do they tell a story a hiring manager at your level actually wants to hear?
Talk Tracks
Most executives can do the job. Fewer can talk about it in a way that lands under pressure. Do you have sharp, ready answers for why you left, what you've been doing, and what you're looking for?
Networking
Sending connection requests isn't a networking strategy. Is your outreach focused on the right people, with the right ask, at the right volume, or is it scattered in a way that makes it hard for people to help you?
Interview Readiness
Are your stories specific, compelling, and tailored to what a hiring manager at your level actually needs to hear? There's a difference between having good answers and having the right answers for where you're going.
Search Management
Are you spending your time on the activities that actually move a search forward? Do you know what a productive week looks like, and can you tell if it's working?
The process
Start to finish, it takes about a week.
Complete the questionnaire.
I'll send you a detailed questionnaire covering your background, your search so far, and your goals. It usually takes an hour to two hours, and you don't have to do it in one sitting. Most people do it in a few sessions across a day or two.
Share your materials.
Send me everything relevant: your resume, your LinkedIn profile, job postings you've been targeting, cover letters if you have them. If you have a dream company or a dream role in mind, tell me about that too. The more context I have, the more specific I can be.
I do a deep review.
I go through everything carefully. Not just your materials in isolation, but how your targeting, positioning, and strategy work together. This is where most of the gaps live: not in any one document, but in how the pieces fit.
I build your report.
A detailed 20+ page document covering what's working, what needs attention, and specific recommendations for each of the six areas. It's written to be tactical: go do this, try this instead, change this. Not vague direction, but concrete next steps.
We meet on Zoom to walk through it together.
45 minutes. We go through the findings, talk through your questions, and figure out what the right next steps are for you. I'll send the full report over after the call so you have everything in writing.
What happens after
The report stands on its own. What comes next is up to you.
A lot of people take the report and implement on their own. There's enough in there to do exactly that. The goal is to give you a very clear picture of where you are and what your search specifically needs, regardless of what you decide to do next.
For people who want continued support, where you go from here depends on what we find:
Your foundation needs work.
This is more common than people expect, even for executives who are months into a search. If that's where you land, I'll recommend the 4-Week Foundations Accelerator. We'll build everything correctly and quickly, so you can move into execution with real momentum behind you.
Your foundation is solid.
You have the right pieces in place and you're ready to execute. My month-to-month coaching is designed for exactly this stage: ongoing support as interviews, offers, and unexpected situations come up. I'll recommend it if that's where you land.

Is this right for you?
This is for senior leaders whose search isn't producing what it should.
- You're a VP, SVP, or C-suite leader and you're not getting the interviews you expected, given your background
- You've been searching for more than a few months and can't figure out what's not working
- You're just starting out and want to build your search correctly from the beginning, not fix it six months in
- You've been told your materials look good, but you're still not getting traction
- You wake up and don't know where to focus. The task list feels infinite and there's no structure to the search
- You want an expert outside perspective before investing more time or money into a search that isn't working
This isn't the right fit if you're early in your career, looking for a quick resume touch-up, or wanting someone to send you a list of job postings. This is a rigorous diagnostic for senior leaders who want real answers about what's standing between them and the right role.
